The Beginning of Prayers That Stick
We didn’t know how to support someone we loved. Let’s call her Krista—she was experiencing one of the toughest times in her life, facing uncertainty that didn’t have simple solutions. She needed space, time, and most importantly, reassurance that she wasn’t alone.
We couldn’t fix her problem or take away her pain, but we wanted to show up for her while respecting her privacy.
We brainstormed and came up with an idea. We gave her a journal, hoping that our plan for how she would use it would encourage her healing journey. Then, we reached out to ten strong, compassionate, faith-filled women, asking them to become her prayer champions. We sent each of them a set of stationery stickers and supplies to create messages that would uplift Krista and mail them to her over the coming months.
We watched as handwritten messages began to arrive, delivering powerful prayers and words of encouragement to her mailbox. Krista read each one and stuck it onto a new page in the journal we gave her. Over time, Krista shared how much she looked forward to her mail each day, and each message she opened was exactly what she needed to hear at that moment. Whether she needed strength, comfort, or not to feel alone, prayers were being answered in real time. To this day, Krista still opens her journal to read the messages from the women who supported her during her most difficult times.
From that moment, Prayers That Stick was established. What started as a simple act of kindness has grown into a movement—one that unites all of us through prayer and encouraging handwritten notes. It’s about supporting each other through the quietest, most meaningful actions and turning hope into reality.
